Listening to a playlist of live performances of Mysterious Production of Eggs tracks.

We're supposed to watch Un Chien Andalou Today. Fucking finally.
The charger in this wall doesn't work. Makes me sad.

So last night I had my evaluation with Jason Dunda and we talked about the normal stuff you would expect for a while and went on to talk about my project. We talked about having a clique of artists who can talk to one another seriously about work, about how us artists kinda need that to learn about what we're doing and that it's good for Tim, Danielle, Jordan, and I to have that. As for the project, I'm going to stop thinking about creating something. I know what kind of thing I'm going to make; an illustration of a proposal, a la Claes Oldenberg, but for the next couple days I'm to think about what a roadside attraction is, why it is, how it functions now, and other questions within that realm.

I was going to watch Taxi Driver in class, but I don't have the battery for it.
I'm going to put a poll up on my page. What about, I know not what yet.

Last night Julie and I watched Michael Jackson's HIStory On Film Vol. II. It was great. Tonight I'll either watch Lost Highway or Mystery Train or both. Tim and Julie won't want to watch Lost Highway. It's David Lynch, and they're not quite fans...yet. Mystery Train is Jarmusch, so maybe they'd be more into that.

Yesterday my Willendork sculpture was very well recieved by my Core profs and TA's. Their basic comment was something along the lines of "Yeah, okay, do that," when telling them I just had to make a mold in algenate and cast it in something. They recommended Hydrastone.

hum dee dee, what else has happened lately?

Shot some color film for Film as Capture. Just some studio work. I need to come up with an idea to propose for my final in that class.

On Tuesday I visited Jason with Tim and he told us of the now infamous Zebra Teabag. Girl who likes to draw things draws a zebra with teabags floating in space around it. When presenting her work, she shows this drawing on a powerpoint presentation and labels it by typing out "ZEBRA TEABAG" over the image. She has no idea how genius that was, and she probably won't stumble anywhere near that brilliant soon. Additional images included Elephant Ice Cream and Illustrator Mommy.

+Finish Willendork and build shelf for it.
+Think about roadside attractions and come up with idea for project by Sunday night
+Come up with proposal for final Film as Capture project. (I think Tim will be involved in the final piece.)

I wonder what an appropriate tattoo for me would be.

Oh yeah, hanging out with Tim, Jenni, and Jordan in Pilsen this weekend. Gonna be a blast.

I don't really use this deviantART thing anymore,

But here's a blogpost from [link] , which all of you should be reading but none of you are...

"So, finally, my Letter to Batman is finished and has been critiqued {in a loose sense of the term} and I've decided to send it to my father- my real-life superhero.

Tim had a great critique. His piece/work was great "anti-conceptual conceptualism" as Larry Lee mentioned. Tim received some well-deserved kudos and a handshake.

After critique Tim, Jenni, Danielle, and I went to the Pick Me Up Cafe for late dinner and celebratory business. It was all very nice and lovely. Danielle was as charming as ever. She's too good at making me smile, especially in awkward situations.

Next time we should go to White Palace though.

For some reason my computer is not charging, even though it is plugged in and not completely charged. Weird.

Jump back to critique in Core earlier that day:

Thomas and Robert Paintpants presented their canvassed obelisk and throw-away black cube. The 7 ft. tall rectangular prism covered in canvas was painted on one side (the one where they had stitched the seam) and it looked pretty fucked up. I was second to say something about their piece, and for the first time in a while at least I had a real discussion about some art (albeit a discussion about a piece that held the class's interest by accident, a piece that was supposed to only be a pillar until they put the black cube next to it that morning. They couldn't plan something that interesting). Kimberly asked them what it was about before I said anything and they said it was about how sculptures are viewed from one side even though they're three dimensional. I proceeded to ask them why it was so boring from all angles but the one they accidentally fucked up and accentuated with paint. I said that combated their message and the piece was at a crossroads with its own idea. It was boring, so we had to look at it from one angle. The only interesting thing is that they brought the mistaken seam and tear to our attention with gesso. They had no idea what they had done and I really wanted to go further into their accidentally interesting piece, references to minimalism, and sculpture vs. painting but there wasn't enough time for the rest of the class to discuss their thoughts on the issue. We moved on to talk about my FDR as a bear project. Damn.

Mr. Yood, I know how to spell sequins. The Futurists had a serious manifesto, get it straight. How can you talk about Futurism without mentioning the rise of fascism? Yes, we know that the notion of a czar and a caesar are related. Great. Let's see what you fuck up about Russian cinema. How can you mispronouce Sergei Eisenstein? How can you not refer to the Odessa Steps sequence as the Odessa Steps sequence? How can you make such broad generalizations about one of the most influential films of all time? You fucked up, Mr. Yood. You fucked up and I wonder how much of your class I should take seriously and how misguided I have been sitting in your class until now. Don't tell me about Marx, you bastard.

Update:
That outlet isn't working, so I've moved.

I tried to buy myself a muffin, but my articard is 40cents too short.

Second Update:
James Yood started talking about Marcel Duchamp and I walked out when he presented us with a poor recreation of Fountain, mistaking it for the real thing.

On the way home I paged my dad and walked into Subway because I hadn't anything to eat all day and it was really cold out. My dad called me back and we talked about some fine stuff.

Now I'm watching Top Chef-a-thon and digesting a sandwich, a Sprite, and a bag of chips."

So that's a taste of my blog and how art school is going and all of that. Danielle's my girlfriend, by the way.

So... Sorry for not devUpdating, but y'know... whatever.

Brief wins for Kirkosaurus Rex.

Dear deviantART,

Your film upload guidelines are retarded and not helpful whatsoever.

I tried to upload a quicktime file. It shouldn't be that hard to process what that means.

Kirkosaurus.

For my watchers, here's a link to a video I tried to upload:
